Is there any way of getting all these articles renamed?[edit]

Sorry to be a pain, but I really think the format of the title of this series of articles doesn't make sense - or at least not the intended sense. e.g. the first such article I came across, "1970s in Literature", seemed to suggest it was going to be about how the 1970s has been portrayed in literature. Nothing of the sort. It's in fact, more prosaically, about literary events in that decade. Likewise with those articles devoted to a particular year. It would be much more logical to have the title format "Literature in XXXX": e.g. "Literature in the 1970s", "Literature in 1937" (not "1937 in Literature"), etc. Does anyone strongly disagree with this? Hmm yes, while I would not say it's incorrect, it is ambiguous, so changing them seems sensible. I'm not sure about the mechanics of doing it, though. Neljack (talk) 10:42, 29 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No. Some other language wikipedias do it the other way round, but it's not really an issue because there are already such articles as Works of fiction set in 1976, which is what you really mean. You're not really looking for an article where you can include a work of philosophy with a mention of the 1970s in it, are you? Deb (talk) 19:09, 29 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This is broader than just literature. Compare 1970s in film, 1970s in television, and 1970s in music, plus the dozens of articles on individual years. This should be addressed in a centralized community discussion. bd2412 T 19:37, 4 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
