Untitled[edit]

Absolutely no problem with renaming the article but I think it would be a shame not to retain the Rock of New England logo. The Rock of New England was one of the station's original slogans - I understand it was borrowed from WLS' Rock of Chicago. If you look at the Triple J article you'll see there are several of that station's previous logos.

Some of the material in the previous article is worth retaining, specifically:

  • the micro transmitter system
  • illegal broadcasting
  • the role of Neville Fletcher
  • the details of the station's opening broadcast
  • the external link to the station's own website

The current article has some references that are either unsubstantiated or a bit too POV or self promotional, such as

  • the 'most talented, elite' reference
  • 120,000 listeners - a source would be helpful
  • 'the successful broadcaster you hear today' sounds like a promotional line
  • the VSU reference - maybe true but this is not a soapbox.

Why thank you for your opinions, my learned friend. I have been a broadcaster at TUNE! FM for many years now. I am quite well aware of the station's history. I thank you for your comments on the previous article. I will use some of your comments on the new article to alter it a tad now. I believe the TUNE! FM logo is the best to use in this article, considering its relavence. Neville Fletcher is now also irrelavent, nobody cares what the first song we ever played was, we'd rather keep our illegal broadcasting under the hood, and the micro transmitter system is just so completely irrelavent.

"the VSU reference - maybe true but this is not a soapbox." You, my friend, are an idiot. VSU is threatening TUNE! FM to the extreme. UNESA is posing the biggest threat. The UNESA council is supporting VSU, this puts us in the worst position possible. I do not wish to go into detail as this topic makes me mad as hell and I am already very pissed after reading your comments.

Good day to you, my son.

Thanks for replacing the 1981 logo. The additional one is also good but needs to be a bit bigger. I tried expanding it but it looked too crappy. Do you have a larger version? I have a few others I'll add if the article gets long enough to fit.
As a current staff member I can understand why you might think some of the details of the station's history are irrelevant but others would disagree. Illegal broadcasting is an interesting part of the station's history. The station might not want to mention it but that isn't really a good reason not to include it.
I removed the reference to the 2 staff members as including those and not all the others amounts to vanity.
I don't disagree with your sentiments about VSU but you should look at Wikipedia's Neutral point of view policy and also the article What Wikipedia is not. I hope my amended version is acceptable.

To the person who keeps adding the reference to the two 'most recognised MCs': if you wish to retain this reference please indicate why including these names and none of the other staff members is anything other than vanity. Alternatively, perhaps you could come up with a more comprehensive list.

I continue to edit it to include these two people.
These two people are very recognised in the town of Armidale and the region surrounding it.

They may be 'very recognised' but why do they alone deserve mentioning out of all the station's staff? I think the best solution would be to include a list of all the current staff, not just these two. Of course you would need to keep it up to date...

More logos[edit]

Here are some more old logos that could be used in the article if it gets long enough.

General Tidy Up[edit]

It's been a long time since I've contributed to this article, but I've done a bit of a tidy up to get it relevant. Anyone still about? --Biggles (talk) 16:06, 13 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
