Good quality/length[edit]

I'm amazed that an article on one of Dvořák's lesser-known symphonies (and far less famous than his 9th) has this much detail and even includes sheet music of the themes and the symphony's reception around the world! If only the articles on his 7th, 8th, and 9th symphonies were this detailed... WPPWAH (talk) 01:32, 13 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Are you volunteering? :-) User talk:Shehorn did a great job, but he does not seem to be active anymore. Most of the technical details are in the books by Brown and Layton. Wagner quotation[edit]

In the slow movement there is an obvious series of quotes of the "Einzug der Gäste auf die Wartburg" from Wagner's opera Tannhauser which no one, to my knowledge, seems to have picked up on. Since Dvořák had contact with Wagner himself this should not be surprising and if, on comparing both (which are both available on You Tube) the editors agree, this should be added. It makes no difference how many editors agree that they hear this relationship (or see it in the score). It still requires a reliable source. Keep in mind that, on Wikipedia, the threshold for inclusion is verifiability, not truth.—Jerome Kohl (talk) 21:00, 17 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong Symphony[edit]

My comment about the Tannhauser quotes pertained to the 6th Symphony (current numbering system!) and not the 4th so this was edited on to the wrong page. Please change this. Wrong Symphony Redux[edit]

The Tannhauser quotation appears in the 7th, not 6th, symphony, according to current numbering practices (in D minor, op. 70). So it should go neither here nor in the 4th (which is also in D minor). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 135.23.70.19 (talk) 02:29, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
