Thanks for fixing that crucial bit of info about relationship to Gary Morton[edit]

Thanks for fixing that crucial bit of info about relationship to Gary Morton. I must have been very tired when I typed it!

Removal of RUSC citation[edit]

I have removed a citation to the Susan Morrow page on RUSC. Under the text on that page is the line "Source: Wikipedia". Wikipedia is not a reliable source (WP:USERGENERATED), therefore a source that in turn used Wikipedia as a source is not reliable. Eddie Blick (talk) 02:31, 8 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. Eddie Blick (talk) 02:40, 8 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Are you using a script to find this stuff? If so, its very useful work. Ceoil (talk) 02:41, 8 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your question and comment, @Ceoil.
I don't have a script for it. I have compiled a list of sources that I have found to be unreliable for one reason or another. You can see it on one of my user subpages (User:Teblick/Reliable Sources#Not reliable. I use that list as a supplement to Wikipedia's list at Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources, and I add to it occasionally when I encounter an unreliable site that is new to me.
In the specific case of the citation from RUSC, that site was not familiar to me as a source for biographical information, although I knew that it was a source of old-time radio programs. I went to the cited page to see if it provided any source for its content. That's where I found that Wikipedia was the source.
I have not added RUSC to my list yet because I don't know whether Wikipedia is used regularly as a source for its biographical content or whether it varies by article. Eddie Blick (talk) 01:22, 9 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
