Fair use rationale for Image:Sc logo.gif[edit]

Image:Sc logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Deletion of stores' fates...[edit]

The listing recently deleted by Dough4872 was not a directory of extant stores, which is the prohibition set forth in WP:NOTDIRECTORY; it is an accounting of the ultimate fates of the Strawbridge's stores, and as such, is a valuable part of the story told by the article. Photo of Flagship Store[edit]

The article really needs to have a photo of the Philadelphia store since it is the flagship store. Especially since the subsection is about recent work, having a visual is helpful. A postcard image in an earlier general section is a nice reference, but it isn't an actual photo.

The postcard image is actually clearer that your photo - not your fault though. I know how difficult it is to get a good image of the building, because of its great bulk. At the size that we can afford to display the picture in the article, it's not really doing much good to the reader, because details can't be seen. The postcard, because it's not an actual photograph, is much clearer.

Employee Theft[edit]

My mother worked at Strawbridge’s in the 1960’s.

   She told me that in keeping with their Quaker beliefs Strawbridge’s never prosecuted an employee for theft.
