Although I agree that the current description is far from worthy for Wikipedia, I think this guy could deserve a biography here. Being one of the leading roles in the SKA community seems important to me. However, I will probably have no time to make changes on a short notice, so I decided to start a discusssion on the talk page. --Tampert (talk) 23:20, 14 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Feel free to delete the "prod" notice if you think so; I'm certainly not saying that this guy is certainly unnotable, merely that it being solely sourced to an article on his potential victim status is not good testimony toward his notability. --Nat Gertler (talk) 00:33, 15 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed it - This and this suggest to me that WP:PROF is easily met and it's quite likely that there will be further sources that appear in scientific journals in the future. SmartSE (talk) 16:46, 15 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
His death has been subject to a lot of media coverage. What Wikipedia should cover is his life. I think that it is fairly likely that an obituary will be published in an peer-reviewed journal, but that may take a few months with the timescales involved in academic publishing, and may also be dependent on the whether a colleague volunteers to write it or not.
