Sending WP:APPNOTE to EhJJ who tagged this. I'm unsure if Fein is notable, although I am concerned about the amount of WP:SPAs editing this article, including its creator. DGG, you're very knowledgeable on the notability of academics, I was wondering if you had the time to offer our opinion? Boleyn (talk) 17:32, 19 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Unquestionably notable. One of the leading researchers in the effect of social prejudice on judgement. Steven Fein and Steven J. Spencer "Prejudice as Self-image Maintenance: Affirming the Self Through Derogating Others" in 'Journal of personality and Social Psychology 1997 Vol. 73, No. 1,31-44 has been cited a remarkable 932 times; SJ Spencer, S Fein, CT Wolfe, C Fong "Automatic activation of stereotypes: The role of self-image threat" in Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin November 1998 vol. 24 no. 11 1139-1152 308 times; others 254, 215, 184, 146, 116, 115, 109 ... The paper referred to here is one of his relatively minor works, though for obvious reasons it attracted a good deal of public attention. I've adding the numbers and removed the notability tag, but the article needs further integration of the material. DGG ( talk ) 17:55, 19 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
