Price inflation template[edit]

When reviewing this article for DYK I noticed the inflation template to convert the price £3,500 in the 1860s to £270,000 in 2013. The use of this template has recently been challenged at an FAC (where I'd used it for the price of a church organ) saying "The template states the it is "only capable of inflating Consumer Price Index values: staples, workers rent, small service bills (doctor's costs, train tickets)" and warns that "incorrect use of this template would constitute original research".— Rod talk 09:28, 1 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
