Hallock's Park[edit]

Syracuse Police Department baseball team, 1911. Hallock Park in background. (courtesy Onondaga Historical Association)

Hallock Park was another baseball ground on the northside of Syracuse at about the same time as Star Park. Hallock Park is visible in the background of this picture. It is said to have been located "just north" of Hiawatha Boulevard, and "just off" of Park Street, near where the Regional Market is today, close to the present day site of NBT Bank Stadium. Another reference, this one to "Hallock's Park", and another location:

"... Games were shifted to Hallock's Park located at the end of No. Salina Street at Onondaga Lake. This park would also be called Star Park III, First Ward Park, and State League Park during it's [sic] use between 1906 and 1918." (Ron Gersbacher, "History of Syracuse Baseball," ch.10)
