Pronunciation[edit]

does this really rhyme with foot? kwami (talk) 07:15, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sort of - "Neot" has two syllables - the first sounds like "knee" and the second a bit like "foot" (without the F). DuncanHill (talk) 10:07, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmm, looking at the IPA chart, It may be better to use a schwa for the second syllable - but it's betwixt and betweeen to my ear. DuncanHill (talk) 10:10, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, but if you think it's more like "foot" than "what", it may be okay as is. kwami (talk) 13:02, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Chiming in nearly twenty years later: the Cornish locals appear to use a schwa sound in the second syllable, so it rhymes quite closely with "see it" -- ˈniːət. 68.193.141.193 (talk) 23:15, 12 May 2024 (UTC)corpho[reply]
