This size page is unwarranted for such a city[edit]

It is a city now. But you do not need to include every C class celebrities home address on the page. For such a small place, it really doesnt need a huge page. A picture would be nice of a famous landmark or a satellite- AH (talk) 01:48, 4 November 2019 (UTC) picture.[reply]

I learned several new facts because of the extensive facts. I did not know Snoop Dogg was associated with the area, for example. As the 5th largest city in Louisiana, in comparison with other similar cities like Lafayette, New Orleans, and Shreveport it matches up.
The information on the lawsuits should be pared down though, with the Louisiana Supreme Court decision taking the largest portion as it is the only relevant decision now. 45.21.83.239 (talk) 19:28, 29 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed, large sections are just copy pasted from legal documents in what could be summed up in a paragraph. Friedbyrd (talk) 10:31, 2 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion of St. George's racist history[edit]

There has been frequent conflicting edits made on this article by many users. The relevant content is as follows (Section formatting has been replaced with bold as to not render as new sections):

Allegations of Racist Motivation

St George, Louisiana has 86,000 residents and around 70% are white. But almost half of residents who lived there voted against its incorporation.[1][2][3] Opponents who voted against St. George claim the split is racially motivated and will create a 'white enclave', leaving struggling black communities behind with some fearing a potential exodus of families who live within the new city limits but voted against its creation.[4] The entirety of East Baton Rouge is 47% Black.[5] St. George supporters vehemently deny the suggestion that the city was created with any malicious racial intent.[6]

The NAACP Baton Rouge Chapter as well as Baton Rouge mayor Sharon Weston Broome strongly opposed the creation of St. George.[7] Opponents have argued that the St. George movement is inherently racist as it creates legal lines of segregation.[8]

Discussion must take place here, not in edit summaries. Sink Cat (talk) 05:00, 14 May 2024 (UTC) Sink Cat (talk) 05:00, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If anything this section just further divides the commentary. "Allegations of Racist Motivations" is suggesting something that isn't confirmed in any document or filing for the city. The demographics also align with national averages. St. George even tried to incorporate Gardere with them but they declined so they were left out at Gardere's choice.
If you didn't want the section removed you should've put reasoning in your edit summary, hence why the section is there in the first place. Nedac1775 (talk) 17:55, 18 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
