Comment[edit]

I have added detail upon the origins of exercise physiology, and some notable academics. Further additions include references, external web links, deleted and rewrote sport science on the web. Will add more detail over coming weeksAsh Routen 16:37, 5 February 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by AshRouten (talkcontribs)

TV Series?[edit]

There is a TV series with the same name as the article (called Sports Science). I don't know if there are plans for an article for the TV series, but I thought it should be noted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.190.182.113 (talk) 02:05, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I just came here to find out information on the show but found no article existing. I just watched an episode of the show and it was pretty bad. -Jaardon (talk) 21:34, 12 February 2009 (UTC) i didnt know there was a tv show — Preceding unsigned comment added by 168.8.249.209 (talk) 14:40, 12 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sports science is not exercise physiology[edit]

There will be no merging of sports science and exercise physiology. Reading both definitions should make this clear. Sports science deals with, as the name suggests, sports performance. Exercise Physiologists may work with athletes, but they also work within cardiac rehabilitation and other professions unrelated to sports performance.

_______________________ I would like to support this statement, it might be useful to have a brief description of the core scientific disciplines of sports science, including biomechanics, psychology and motor control within the sports science page but each should have their own page for more complete entries as they each are much broader than their application to sport and performance. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pednm (talkcontribs) 11:23, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Planned edits[edit]

I plan on expanding this article by providing credible citations and distinguishing the difference between sports or exercise physiology with sports science. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Studentwriter k (talkcontribs) 16:31, 11 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
