Genres[edit]

I've removed the action and survival horror genres from the infobox. Action as a genre incorporates everything from FPS through to fighting games and platformers, since a much more specific genre (beat 'em up) is relevant there's no need to duplicate. I also removed survival horror since it is a gameplay-derived (ie video game) genre whereas the sources here just talk of horror (which is a general fiction genre, like novels and TV shows) and of the game being a beat 'em up. If a large number of journalists refer to it as survival horror then it's worth revisiting, but until they do please don't add it back. There's a bit of a 'thing' with labelling the Splatterhouse series as survival horror, a few journos have called the older games that, but didn't differentiate between horror and survival horror. This page has been severely tampered with![edit]

Someone please fix this, I have no idea how to do it but it's clear that someone has destroyed this article with homoerotic graffiti. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.20.183.238 (talk) 09:05, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cheat Code Central for reception section?[edit]

Really? That site's got a pretty bad reputation for stealing other people's stuff, maybe find another, more mainstream site for reception?76.234.169.119 (talk) 05:09, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Splatterhouse OST/Hell Within's (non) contribution[edit]

Hell Within was not one of the bands that contributed to the soundtrack of the Splatterhouse remake. The full band listing can be seen at http://www.splatterhousegame.com - Hell Within is not listed. This misinformation can be attributed to a YouTube user, FuckThemPigeons, that erroneously posted a video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIznwqC9Ns0) claiming Hell Within's "The Rebirth" was part of the Splatterhouse OST. The correct soundtrack listing is as follows:

"Pounding Nails" - The Accüsed (03:08)
   "Dream Song" - ASG (03:49)
"Must Kill" - Cavalera Conspiracy (04:50)
"Dying Breed" - Five Finger Death Punch (02:55)
   "Apocalyptic Havoc" - Goatwhore (03:16)
"Hollow Ground" - The Haunted (04:10)
"Fire, Flood & Plague" - High on Fire (06:08)
"Dead Eyes" - Invisible Enemies (1:28)
"Walk With Me In Hell" - Lamb of God (05:11)
"Blood and Thunder" - Mastodon (03:49)
"Rigorous Vengeance" - Municipal Waste (02:13)
"Morbid Dismemberment" - Mutant Supremacy (03:14)
"Dead Shall Rise" - Terrorizer (03:32)
"Headlong Into Monsters" - WolfShirt (03:18)

The only other music used in the game was Howard Drossin's original score.

Incorrect info regarding an iOS version[edit]

The article was recently updated to include information on a supposed iOS port. This is not true, as the IPhone version is just a port/enhancement of the 1988 original game. Some info on the port already exists under the Ports section of the original game's article. To make this article factually accurate again, the content regarding the mobile port will have to be deleted or migrated to the article for the original game.
