I am currently working on writing this Wikipedia page. I am mostly finding information on mimicry, and not enough information on distribution and mating.Hannahwhite97 (talk) 21:59, 23 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

As wiki expert, I edited this page for our behavioral ecology class. In some of the pictures, there were no descriptions, so I added them in. In the lead section, while well written, should not contain references or information not available in the body sections. These references should be taken out, and if its info is not found in detail later on in the article, they should be added. It looked like all the info were in the body sections so I removed the references in the lead. I read through to make sure there are no broken links or wiki coding errors. I also made sure the organization followed the project diptera guidelines. I changed the “human” section to “interaction with humans” to follow the guidelines more faithfully. Overall, this is a good, concise article on the fly. Y.shiuan (talk) 20:16, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I reviewed this article with relative delight, as the entry was very well-written and direct. I made slight grammatical changes (mostly pertaining to comma usage) and readjusted some of the sentences to limit repetition of some of the ideas, but overall this is excellent work. The ideas were well conveyed and did not need adjusting. The pictures and in-text links were very helpful and a nice touch for the article. Eengermann (talk)

Overall a very concise, interesting article! The article was organized in a way that made it informative and engrossing, while still conveying the important points to the reader. The extra bit of background information on types of mimicry was a nice touch as well. I made a couple changes on sentence structure that help the article read smoother, as well a couple technical changes (changed "species" to "genera" when describing the trees) but other than that it was very well written. A couple areas that could use some elaboration are in Life History when you mention the three life stages but dont explain what they are, and in larval habitat when you mention rot holes and the types of trees they occur in but dont explain them until 2 sections later. An additional picture showing the wasp that they mimic could also enhance this article. Overall, a very well-written article.
