Main picture[edit]

For a biography, the main picture should, ideally, be just of the person, either a full-length, half-length, or head shot. If you can get a hi-res old Public Domain picture, it is fine to crop him out of the picture and use that as the main picture. This current picture can illustrate a section that part of his life. I had considered this, but everything I found was of such low resolution that I didn't think a crop would look very good. Was just using this image as the best thing I could find, which I assumed was better than nothing. --MattWright (talk) 23:39, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OR and Verifiable sources?[edit]

There seem to be many cites to manuscript collections and letters. Sources are supposed to be published (therefore accessible to other readers) and verifiable. The manuscript sources do not appear to meet the standards for Wikipedia's basis for Reliable Sources, and their use is based on Original Research by other editors, which also does not meet Wikipedia's operating method. Such cites and content can be deleted. Given Penrose's achievements, it seems other sources could support most of such content.Parkwells (talk) 15:17, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
