Extension of this article[edit]
I think that "A Consumer's Guide to evenness indices" (Smith,B. , Wilson, J.B., OIKOS 76:70-82,1996) would be a good reference here and also would help the expansion of this article.

This book contains a summary of the above guide on pages 119-121.

Removal of this article[edit]
Maybe the content of the article should be copied in Diversity index, and this article removed. Eline Be (talk) 20:03, 14 June 2017 (UTC)
- Why? Since "Mathematically it is defined as a diversity index, a measure of biodiversity which quantifies how equal the community is numerically", species evenness is not identical (with diversity index). I believe that this article on species evenness should remain as a distinct article. MaynardClark (talk) 20:07, 14 June 2017 (UTC)
