Proposed deletion[edit]

I do not think that the article should be deleted. In accordance with the instructions in the deletion template, I have removed the template from the main article and am starting this discussion here. The reason given for deletion was "non-notable local hospital, no 3rd party sources"

  • It has four references from four different sources, only one of which is NHS. It is not lacking primary sources and it is clearly wrong to say "no 3rd party sources".
  • It certainly is a notable hospital - providing a range of facilities and with construction costs are going to be of the order of £54 million.
  • The hospital will be significantly larger than others in the area which already have articles e.g. Paulton Memorial Hospital

Obviously if others disagree and think it isn't notable then please take the opportunity to say why, or of course feel free to add more detail to the article. --TimTay (talk) 16:53, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Of course this hospital is / will be notable. the plans have excited considerable mention in the local and regional media. As stated above there are reliable, verifiable 3rd party sources. The idea of this hospital has been around for the best part of fifity years and the land has been ear-marked for it for that time. Jezhotwells (talk) 17:26, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
site work will commence in spring 2009 and as advanced construction methods are being used I expect there to be regular updates to the article as the project develops. Jezhotwells (talk) 17:59, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Keep and develop article - proposed hospital meets general notability guidance, and will meet notability criteria for medical buildings. Ghmyrtle (talk) 21:52, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
