Semi-protected edit request on 1 August 2018[edit]

Change the opening two paragraphs of the article to the following, as they include three references to her birthdate. Note that the Bahasa Indonesia Wikipedia article for this individual also incorrectly lists 1993 as a birthdate. (The same vandal appears to have been at work there.) However, these three references are all taken from the Bahasa Indonesia article. They are the only references on the page that list her birthday, and all three references agree that it is 1992, not 1993.

Use the following code as her opening two paragraphs:

Sonia Fergina Citra (born April 27, 1992[1][2][3]) is an Indonesian model and beauty pageant titleholder who won Puteri Indonesia 2018. She will represent Indonesia at the Miss Universe 2018.[4]

Personal life[edit]

Sonia was born on April 27 1992 in Tanjung Pandan, Bangka Belitung. Sonia works for a national distributor company in Jakarta as a Digital Marketer. Sonia started her career as a model in 2005, through the selection of Bangka Belitung Youth Model Faces. She is the youngest of her 6 siblings and loves Muay Thai sport, Taekwondo and Capoeira. She is active in various social causes associated with the organization “Diberi Untuk Memberi.” Sonia helps in providing free food to janitors, school renovation and education assistance, and she is also involved in environmental conservation activities related coral reef adoption at Tanjung Kelayang beach, Belitung.[1]

Age and year of birth[edit]

Almost all reliable sources give her year of birth as 1992. There appear to be a small number that say 1993; however, it seems likely that those sources are taking incorrect information from the Indonesian Wikipedia.

As further support for her being born in 1992, this link to a pageant that she won in March 2018 says that she is 26: Link (If anything that suggests that if she was not born in 1992, then her birth year may in fact be 1991.) She won the pageant before her Wikipedia page was created, so that can be taken as independent confirmation that she was born in 1992 (or 1991), not 1993.

The Indonesian Wikipedia page originally had 1991 (but is untrustworthy because it had the birthday wrong), then it was changed to 1992 (and the correct birthday given) when the page was greatly expanded by a registered user. Then an anonymous IP user (probably the same one who has been editing on the English Wikipedia page), changed it to 1993 with no rationale, edit summary, etc. Evidence for 1993 is extremely limited (outside of sources obviously derived from Wikipedia), and since this user refuses to add edit summaries or comment on talk pages, and has been observed to vandalize birth years on other articles, he/she should be ignored. 142.167.242.182 (talk) 16:17, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you have a reference for her saying this, then provide the reference. Don't just change things without any evidence. You have been observed to change numerous articles with obviously incorrect birth years (e.g., Zarqawi), so you have a very poor track record here. Almost all references have her birth year as 1992, except for Indonesian Wikipedia (and sources derived from it), which **you** changed. And Puteri Indonesia (the beauty pageant that made her notable in the first place) says that she is 26 years old.
