Rename[edit]

Suspect this should be renamed to Snowtown wind farm per WP:TITLE. Donama (talk) 06:14, 14 July 2011 (UTC) [reply]

No answer, so: [removed move request template so bot would list the new one]

Snowtown Wind FarmSnowtown wind farm – See WP:TITLE. The case should be fixed and is likely uncontroversial. Donama (talk) 00:29, 4 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

NB: Withdrawn in favour of a multi-page rename as per next comment section. Donama (talk) 05:05, 7 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Rename along with all other incorrectly named windfarm pages[edit]

No consensus to move. However it appears that some of these should be moved and those should be renominated as single nominations and not in a bulk nomination. If anyone wants to go through the list and pick those out, they can be immediately renominated. Vegaswikian (talk) 18:38, 14 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Requested multi move

– Incorrectly named as a place, where no such place exists. These are all wind farms at a title-cased place so the "wind farm" part of the title should be in lower case. See WP:TITLE. Donama (talk) 05:05, 7 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. I agree with the nom that "wind farm" should not be capitalised per WP:TITLE. Thanks to Donama for setting up this multi-move. Jenks24 (talk) 00:14, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • oppose The Albany Wind Farm is an actual place its not just a wind farm in Albany, the current capitalization for this one is correct as per WP:TITLE or specifically WP:TITLEFORMAT Gnangarra 01:07, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
though for Nine Mile Beach wind farm, and Ten Mile Lagoon wind farm its the opposite yet these should really be merged under Esperance Wind-Gas System as they are just components of the system Gnangarra 01:15, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Comment. Merger of Nine Mile Beach Wind Farm, and Ten Mile Lagoon Wind Farm articles needs a separate merger discussion. However, it seems to be not a clear merger case. Although this page is named the Esperance Wind-Gas System, it also talks at the same time about the Nine Mile Beach wind farm and the Ten Mile Lagoon wind farm as a separate units. The gas power station is not owned by Verve Energy, but Burns Roe Worley. Therefore, a separate discussion on this subject is needed. Beagel (talk) 06:01, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Can you please provide a source for this? Certainly the Snowtown wind farm is not sensible to be capitalised, which is what I started with. Cheers, Donama (talk) 01:16, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
see this source Gnangarra 01:20, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The lead of that page states "Albany wind farm is approximately 12km south-west of the city centre" which implies the correct case is sentence case, as with Wikipedia articles. The use of "Albany Wind Farm" appears to be for titling of articles or themes on the website, not as the correct case for the wind farm itself. Please can you reconsider this. Donama (talk) 01:29, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Its also says The Albany Wind Farm, which officially opened in October 2001, was ten years in the planning. even worse it'll need to be dab at some stage as there are wind farms in Albany in the US. Gnangarra 01:49, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oh also, if you're going to keep an "oppose" vote here, which will stop the whole list going ahead for rename, can you help me deal with the problem in appropriate parcels if there are some which do need the proper name case, whether its a case by case inclusion or case by case exclusion. Donama (talk) 01:32, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The oppose doesnt affect the other titles, it one specific case in the group, as you can read for two others the change is appropriate, not yet decided on the other WA farms of Walkaway, Collgar, or Emu Downs. It takes time research each though I suspect Albany is the exception, also from that source there are a number of other sites that are yet to have articles created. Gnangarra 01:49, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak oppose The owners of these facilities name them as such (proper names); so they are named similarly to XX Power Station, XX Secondary College, XX University, XX Hospital etc. Not sure that all the names are correct (Crusoe8181 (talk) 04:15, 8 August 2011 (UTC)).[reply]
  • Oppose. These are proper names, where the owners of these facilities have named them using capitals. Johnfos (talk) 23:03, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment. We should look in every case, which is the common name of the wind farm. If the common name is also an official name, it is probably capitalized and capital letters should be used also in the article's title. E.g. for the Snowtown Wind Farm, the operator uses at its official website capitalization http://www.trustpower.co.nz/index.php?section=163. If the common name is just a indication of the wind farm's location and differs from the official name, the move is justified. Beagel (talk) 06:11, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose, per Crusoe and John. Although, there may be a few that should be in lowercase. Rehman 03:28, 14 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
