Article Improvement and Balance[edit]

The picture in the infobox is great. This article has the potential to become much better. The History section needs some expansion to address what's happened in 99 years. Are there plans for a centennial observance? Are there Notable alumni from the last 99 years; most of these people should already have an article in Wikipedia or be widely known in their field. This article needs to have inline citations to reliable, neutral sources.

Academics, Demographics, Faculty, and Student Life are potential new sections. As examples of some of these look at Heritage High School (Maryville,Tennessee) or Blackman High School or other schools in List of high schools in Tennessee. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.211.41.239 (talk) 05:35, 27 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Academics[edit]

Do they offer anything besides sports at Smyrna High School? 69.180.226.61 (talk) 17:44, 13 August 2011 (UTC)NotACoach[reply]

Mr. Bowling Awards[edit]

Thomas Walker never won the Mr. Bowling award, so please make sure it's not going to be continuously edited in anymore. — Preceding unsigned comment added by KinkESizemore (talkcontribs) 22:59, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 5 July 2016[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: page moved. Smyrna High School (Delaware) now exists. (non-admin closure) Eventhorizon51 (talk) 14:42, 14 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Smyrna High SchoolSmyrna High School (Tennessee) – There is also a Smyrna High School in Delaware. It appears this article was previously at the disambiguated form but was improperly moved; the talk page is still at the old title. Dough4872 02:46, 5 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. The original move was in error.  ONR  (talk)  17:34, 5 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support, and a move-in-error like this can be speedily reverted; there's a section for this at WP:RM.  — SMcCandlish ¢ ≽ʌⱷ҅ʌ≼  20:20, 11 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose, unless I'm missing something. Smyrna High School (Delaware) is a redlink. We don't disambiguate against topics that we don't cover. Jenks24 (talk) 11:38, 13 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. This is the only "Smyrna High School" with an article. No reason to disambiguate. Anarchyte (work | talk) 12:05, 13 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - oppose arguements are now moot as the Delaware school now has an article. John from Idegon (talk) 10:26, 14 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

June 20th, 2018[edit]

Rick Powell is no longer the principal, the school link no longer works, and the student enrollment number is incorrect. The number of edits I made does not mean they aren't true or are inaccurate. I improved the article significantly so I took down the talk page because most of this is not a non-issue. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 152.130.8.6 (talk) 16:00, 20 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, IP. Your change to the principal was reverted because at the time you made it, there was no valid link to the school's website. That was rectified and your change was reinstated. The vast majority of the edits that you made that were reverted were reverted for lack of verification. Please understand, this particular article has a long history of crufty unsourced edits. Uncited additions are justifiably looked at closely. Thanks for finally listening. Please understand that the only use what you know has here is the way you use it to find sources for your edits. Every single thing here must come from a reliable published source. There are no exceptions. John from Idegon (talk) 01:48, 22 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Also, although you can remove anything you want (except shared IP notices and certain templates related to blocks and sockpuppetry) from your own talk page, you cannot delete anything (except your own comments, but only if they have not been replied to) from any other talk page. Article talk is generally archived either manually or by a bot if it is stale. I'll manually archive it later tonight, and find someone to set up a bot. Automation baffles me. Article Improvement[edit]

All major issues with this article have been addressed and rectified.--KinkESizemore (talk) 20:46, 21 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I concur. You both have done a great job. Thanks. There is still considerable room for further improvement if you're interested. I'll leave a note here later on that. One question tho: what's the purpose of the archive link to a 2006 version of the school's website in the external links section? John from Idegon (talk) 01:30, 22 June 2018 (UTC), co-coordinater, Wikiproject Schools[reply]

I have no idea myself. Lol. It can go. --152.130.8.6 (talk) 20:49, 26 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
