This page needs improvement[edit]

There are multiple issues with this page

, namely:

1. Inconsistent information: Prof. J.W. Flynn is listed as doctoral advisor in the short bio. In `Biography`, it is mentioned that Dr. Sarkar did his PhD from Mumbai, and was, instead, a post doc in J.W. Flynn's lab.

2. Among his relatives are mentioned "noted physicist professor of University of Calcutta, Prof. Samir K Sarkar, the noted solid-state physicist of Presidency University, Prof. Salil K. Sarkar", about whom not much details are available, and probably the use of the term noted is not appropriate here. Same for his nephew, Sreyash Sarkar.

3. Most of the references are either broken (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 12, 13) or refer to the same link (6, 11, 14, 16).

4. Honestly, I am not sure that this satisfies WP:AUTHOR or WP:NACADEMIC . With no intended disrespect, designation as a senior professor in a University, or visiting half a dozen institutes around the world do not normally qualify as notable achievements. He is listed as a member of the Maharashtra Academy of Sciences. However, the reference to this organisation's webpage is broken. 147.96.60.251 (talk) 16:28, 4 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
