Untitled[edit]

This master, for me the greatest composer of serious music to emerge from the American continent, deserves a better article than the one he has presently. When I get the chance this week, I'll go ahead and beef up the article. Wish me luck!

More than a decade on, several people have worked on the article, so I hope it's now in a better state. I notice that an editor has just removed the "refimprove" tag without explanation. Perhaps it is no longer relevant, although parts of the "Life" section still appear short on sourcing. @Jerome Kohl: you appear to have placed the tag in January 2009 – are you happy that the matter is now addressed, or should we reinstate the tag? --Deskford (talk) 14:31, 18 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that the referencing has been much improved since 2009, though there are still places in the "Life" section that are unreferenced. I think these would be better addressed now by flagging the specific passages, rather than reverting to a blanket "refimprove" tag. FWIW, I do not find those unreferenced claims particularly contentious, but Wikipedia does require sources for such things.—Jerome Kohl (talk) 00:07, 19 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Better translation?[edit]

I think a better translation of

"Se suplica no tirarle al pianista" ("Please don't shoot at the piano player")

would be to leave out the "at". So it would be simply, "Please don't shoot the pianist."

In Spanish you almost always put "a" or "al" before a noun referring to a person as a direct object. It usually does not translate as "at".
