Note, this discussion is moved from User talk:Polyamorph

Dear Polyamorph,

I had removed something that is travel guide per WP:NOTTRAVEL. Thank you.

How does that beach satisfy WP:GNG? Polyamorph (talk) 12:14, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I added both primary and secondary sources to the article, Silver Mine Bay Beach. The secondary sources may refer to incidents happened near the beach. Thank you. Aravindhan Ravikumar (talk) 12:18, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry but those sources in no way make the beach independently notable for a standalone article. A red tide occurred and a shark was spotted, so the beach was closed. Someone drowned near to the beach. A house caught fire nearby. Come on! How are those events even notable and how do those sources provide significant coverage of the beach itself? Polyamorph (talk)
I had added the beach being temporarily closed between 1987 and 1989 due to the water quality being ranked as poor. Aravindhan Ravikumar (talk) 12:59, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
And? That in no way makes the beach notable.Polyamorph (talk) 13:09, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
How to make the beach notable? Aravindhan Ravikumar (talk) 13:34, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You don't "make" it notable. It is either notable or it is not. Please read WP:GNG. Polyamorph (talk) 13:43, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I read the WP:GNG and it is notable. Aravindhan Ravikumar (talk) 13:57, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the deletion discussion[edit]

I had removed notability that contributes to the beach being closed. Thank you. Aravindhan Ravikumar (talk) 14:35, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It will be good for the deletion discussion to clarify if a beach is inherently notable. Polyamorph (talk) 14:43, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
