Another Name Change[edit]

Siemens also introduced a new name for this type of rolling stock, which we used to refer to as PRIAA or Viaggio USA. Now it is Siemens ‘Venture’. Sounds like Venture is the most recent name. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 06:35, 6 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures of IDOT cars[edit]

Amtrak Midwest photo[edit]

Hi! @Piemadd, I respectfully disagree with your reasoning to remove the drone photo of the siemens venture cars at Union Station and replace it with your photo. Yes, as you stated, your photo is more closer up, but it doesn't provide as wide of view as the drone photo. I also have a photo that I didn't upload to commons of it with a complete side view from the air, but as the car had a really ugly rust stain, I didn't upload it. I'd like to get others opinions on the better photo to include in this article and get this issue resolved. Cheers! Sea Cow (talk) 03:04, 4 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with Sea Cow - the aerial photo works better here. (Side note: it's technically in 14th Street Coach Yard.) I'm also inclined to question the provenance of a small photo with no EXIF taken in an active rail yard. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 21:37, 4 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I should have ensured the EXIF was included, though it was taken in late March (the 25th) of this year during an authorized tour of the yard through my university. Technically speaking I wasn't actually in the yard, but just outside of the car shop on a path. You can actually see these cars in the very back of Sea Cow's image. We were allowed to take pictures (with permission) with the only exception being the insides of the venture cars since Amtrak doesn't own them, IDOT does. Magnets & Brackets – Original Research[edit]

Paragraph 3 in the Amtrak Midwest session (the bit about magnets being removed with brackets being in place to prevent tables from being extended) appears to be original research based on an original photo. Amtrak Airo[edit]

It appears to be a diffent trade name from Amtrak, with common modifications to the equipment. Three reputible news agencies (Washington Post, Railway Age and Trains) all say that they are based on/similar to/will resemble the Siemens Venture. Lets keep the information here for now and we can split later if they prove to be truely different from the Brightline/Amtrak state owned/Via Rail equipment. -- RickyCourtney (talk) 21:30, 17 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It might be important to clarify that the Amtrak Airos/ICTs are trainsets that use Siemens Venture cars as their passenger cars, not that Airo is another name for the Venture Car. I feel like this is splitting hairs. Amtrak bought some Chargers, Venture cars, and are adding in the power cars (which will use Venture car shells)... and they're calling the combination the Amtrak Airo. RickyCourtney (talk) 00:13, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
