Siekierki Bridge[edit]

Since this bridge is named after Warsaw's Siekierki district, I propose that it be named that way in this article: "Siekierki Bridge." Nihil novi (talk) 02:48, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Linguistically speaking, you are right. The problem is that in practice in English texts Siekierkowski Bridge is used exclusively (try a webseach for Siekerki Bridge ....). "Siekierki Bridge" is NOT the proper name. The proper names are Siekierkowski, Swietokrzyski and Lazienkowski Bridge. Otherwise, why not go about translating all the Paris and Rome bridges into English, I'm sure "The Bridge of the Invalids" and "The Bridge of Four Heads" will make more sense. 2A01:4B00:D036:4500:363C:D3A9:2DE7:348 (talk) 10:26, 27 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
