Greek victory[edit]

I think that we have to change the "Macedonian victory" into "Greek" as Macedon was part of Greece, Macedonians were basically Greeks. There were not only Macedonians against Persian empire but also other Greeks. A. Katechis Mpourtoulis (talk) 07:27, 19 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Question: By the same logic, would you also change the article Battle of Chaeronea (338 BC) to "Greek victory"? --T*U (talk) 08:13, 19 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Macedonia was the leader of the Hellenic League, but this naming thing you are trying to PUSH is more conected to the "Macedonia naming dispute" than to actual facts. We already discussed this here, and if i remember right, you resorted to racial slurs. In any case, there is plenty of sources in the article to back up what's already there. Macedonia was part of what today we consider to be "Greece", but this is up for debate. For instance, greeks called Philip II and the macedonians back at that time "barbarians". There were part of what historians called "ancient greece", mostly due to cultural similarities, but again, there is too much debate on this. And since the historians debate, why should Wikipedia pretend there is a consensus when in fact there is none? Plus, i don't think you are here to "correct mistakes", but to WP:POINT, plain and simple.
