The lawsuit filed against Siddha is signifcant in relation to the controversy surrounding the organization. Removal for "NOTNEWS" could only reasonable be applied for condition 2. Relevant parts of section 2 are bolded below. Note that this lawsuit is not a routine event and that the information is not emphasized or otherwise treated differently than other information. This is the only portion of NOTNEWS that could apply to removal of this information but it does not apply to this edit given than the information is not routine and is not being emphasized or treated as first hand reporting or any other applicable criteria for this rule.
News reports. Wikipedia considers the enduring notability of persons and events. While news coverage can be useful source material for encyclopedic topics, most newsworthy events do not qualify for inclusion and Wikipedia is not written in news style. For example, routine news coverage of announcements, events, sports, or celebrities, while sometimes useful, is not by itself a sufficient basis for inclusion of the subject of that coverage (see WP:ROUTINE for more on this with regard to routine events). Also, while including information on recent developments is sometimes appropriate, breaking news should not be emphasized or otherwise treated differently from other information. This is not "news" it is a relevant piece of information relating to the controversy surrounding the Siddha Yoga organization and is one of only a handful of lawsuits filed over decades. It is worth inclusion regardless of the outcome of the legal case. Fair point. We need to provide a fair and neutral summary of the lawsuit. I think I will reduce the verbage in this section, to just the essential. Since it seems the plaintiffs in the case are suing for rape and molestation, not poor working conditions or because they were told where and when and what to eat. We will need to provide regular updates on the progress of the lawsuit and when it is finished we will need to provide a fair and accurate summary of the outcome. Hopefully a major news organization will cover it and provide reliable information.TheRingess (talk) 16:45, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
