Possible sources

This article needs sources. Places to look for sources include the Nasik District Gazetteer (linked to at Niphad), the Nashik disaster management plan (linked to at Talk:Niphad (maybe not well labeled there)), and the 2001 India census.

Improve the article (or face the consequences)

I expect that Shivadi will eventually find itself recommended for merger into Niphad, and that this merger will probably happen.

It is not clear how the information from Shivadi would be incorporated into Niphad as currently written. It would be a bit of a shame to just throw it away, though—the current Shivadi content is obviously written by someone with direct knowledge so a lot of it is probably true. I know it's not world-shaping information, but still. I will try (when I have a chunk of time) to get Niphad into a condition to accommodate the information from Shivadi, which will involve adding actual content to Niphad#Villages beyond just listing all the villages.

If you are reading this and you want to improve the chances that Shivadi will remain an independent article, then please add as many noteworthy facts about the village as humanly possible, and find and cite sources for everything in the article!!!!!!!, especially the most interesting stuff.

• Find really good sources for the story of the village being given away, and try to find out all the details about that story (why didn't the Queen have money? etc.)
• Add a picture of the wada.
• Add a picture of some other part of the town.
• Select a festival that is very different in Shivadi than it is elsewhere. Give a detailed description of what is done and what is unusual about it. Remember you need a source—maybe a newspaper article?
  • It would be excellent if an interpretation could be given, for example if this festival is done in the Gujarati style, indicating that the people who brought it to Shivadi may have come from there (I'm just making up an example here, I'm not saying there is any such festival in Shivadi).
• The article previously included the claim that "farmers over here are intelligent enough to use water wisesly"; this is obviously not a neutral point of view, but if there is an interesting example of how farmers in Shivadi conserve water, this could be included.

Good luck! I'm cheering for you; I always like underdogs. But as it stands I would have a hard time trying to argue that this article should be separate from Niphad. And I can't help improve the article very much from where I am—and I'm too busy right now.
