Shimofusa Air Base (WW II]] aka Shiroi Air Base (USAAF)[edit]

Perhaps this airfield is at 35°47′56″N 140°00′48″E / 35.799008°N 140.013213°E / 35.799008; 140.013213. It is west of Shiroi, and Google maps shows airplanes and a runway in the earth view, and WW II Japanese warplanes in photos. Very likely, but lacking Japanese, I cannot confirm it. Help or more research needed.--DThomsen8 (talk) 01:35, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Original name of the JMSDF Shimofusa AB was Fujigaya Airfield or Fujigaya Army Airfield. However, on the U.S. side, it was called as "Shiroi Air Base" from WW II due to lack of information. The former airfield which located at slightly west of Shiroi AB was IJAAF's Matsudo Airfield (present, JGSDF Camp Matsudo). The other airfield located in the vicinity of Shiroi AB was IJAAF's Kashiwa Airfield (later, U.S. Force's Camp Tomlinson/Kashiwa Communications Station). –Wt0XKGa9w (talk) 18:32, 24 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
