School name[edit]

The article name is Sherman E Burroughs High School, but both the school web site and the district web site refer to it as just Burroughs High School. Is the full name usually used? If it is, then the article name needs to include the period after the "E". Thoughts on which way to move the article? Thanks, Alanraywiki (talk) 14:56, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Removed info about Burro's being native animals[edit]

Burros are considered feral animals in the Indian Wells Valley. The Burros arrived when the miners did. They are not native the to the area and this information is incorrect. Quill and Pen (talk) 04:15, 24 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The burro is not a desert native. It is a feral animal. Contact retired college instructor Janet Westbrook, a China Lake biologist or do some research and you will discover the burro is not a native animal. It is a feral animal the high school was named after. As I have written extensively about this subject, and done my research; plus I almost have a minor in biology (mis-wrote here but I am about two classes short of a minor in biology and have studied the desert wildlife) I am well aware of the differences between native and feral animals. Burros are known for destroying the local habitat and defecating in the local water supply. More information about burros: The burro first arrived in the Arizona territory in 1679 by priest Padre Eusebion Kino who brought them to the Spanish mission at San Xavier de Bac in southern Arizona. Miners later used the burros as a pack animal. The burro is originally from North Africa. They are not native to the Americas nor the Indian Wells Valley.
