I have removed the category Closed Lines in Britian because it is not mainly closed.

Re-opening proposal[edit]

I am still trying to establish the precise identity of "Proactive Vision". Companies House webcheck [1] shows the following:

  • Pro-active Vision Ltd, Company No. 05532136, Status: dissolved 14 Dec 2010
  • Proactive Vision Consulting Ltd, Company No. 07265826, Status: Active - Proposal to Strike off
  • Proactive Vision Trust, Company No. 06873807, Status: Dissolved 2 Aug 2011
  • Pro Active Vision (West) Ltd, Company No. 07492424, Status: Active

Does anybody have more information? Biscuittin (talk) 20:33, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Update 1[edit]

  • Proactive Vision Consulting Ltd, Company No. 07265826, Dissolved 27/12/2011
  • Proactive Vision Ltd, Company No. 07909779, Date of Incorporation: 13/01/2012. The name of this company differs from 05532136 only by a hyphen.

Update 2[edit]

I have been examining documents on webcheck [2] and my tentative conclusion is that the company concerned is Pro Active Vision (West) Ltd, Company No. 07492424. However, this is subject to confirmation. Biscuittin (talk) 08:59, 26 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Update 3[edit]

There is a proactive-vision website [3] but I believe this relates to Proactive Vision Ltd, Company No. 07909779, and is unconnected with the railway project. Again, this is subject to confirmation. Biscuittin (talk) 09:09, 26 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Update 4[edit]

At last, some information from Rev David W Heathcote, Chairman, Pro Active Vision Group, Berkeley Vale Project. [4] I don't think a post on a forum counts as a reference for Wikipedia so I have not put it in the article. Biscuittin (talk) 09:38, 26 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Update 5[edit]

Sharpness Berkeley Railway Ltd, Company No. 07166656, was dissolved on 12/06/2012.[5] Biscuittin (talk) 19:05, 26 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Re-attempt at revival[edit]

It seems that another attempt has been made at reopening this line as a preserved railway. The group has a website here, as well as a Facebook page. They've apparently got a lease on the former Diesel shed at Sharpness Docks, and have already got two locomotives from the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway, specifically LMS diesel shunter 7069 and LMS Fowler Class 4F 44027. Both locos have been removed from the GWSR official website, so should they be classed as moved here? TheRowdyruffBoys (talk) 18:04, 8 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Text inconsistency[edit]

At present the article says

Sharpness Berkeley Railway Ltd (Company No. 07166656) intends to re-open the line...

and a few lines later

Sharpness Berkeley Railway Ltd, Company No. 07166656, was dissolved on 12 June 2012.

A dissolved company can't "intend" to do anything. I hesitate to edit this because enthusiasm for heritage re-openings is evident here; can anyone who knows more about the local issues update this ... ? Afterbrunel (talk) 07:46, 23 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
