"In the wake of Alqās Mirzā’s escape to the Ottoman Empire, Esmāʿil Mirzā was made, late in the summer of 954/1547, governor of Šervān (Rumlu, p. 1309; Qawāmi-Širāzi, p. 97; Ḥosayni-Qomi, p. 321; Ḵuzāni-Eṣfahāni, fol. 133r; Jonābadi, p. 508), a hotbed of political unrest and rebellion at the time. Soon after Esmāʿil Mirzā’s arrival in the province, his guardian (lala), Gökča Sultan Ziādlu Qājār, also known as Šāhverdi Sultan (d. 962/1555)"

@HistoryofIran:, sorry for the late response, missed your ping. Interesting, per the source linked by you, it would indeed appear so. However, I'm not really sure how we then should interpret "Titles & Emoluments in Safavid Iran: A Third Manual of Safavid Administration" regarding this (type "Qarabagh" in the bracket [2]). @HistoryofIran:, yes, you're right about that. However, what I was trying to hint on though, is that Floor's information doesn't match the info provided by Iranica. According to Floor (as you can see), this "Shahverdi" in question governed Karabakh in 1554-1564, which hence contradicts with what Iranica says, e.g. that he died at Garisi. - LouisAragon (talk) 18:03, 12 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
