Fair use rationale for Image:Shades of Green Resort.jpg[edit]

Image:Shades of Green Resort.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:50, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article for Delete[edit]

I'd like to request that an administrator delete the Article for Delete proposal for Shades of Green because it was done by an anonymous users which as I understand the Wikipedia rules is not allowed, Besides that their claim that the article is non-notable is preposterous, Shades of Green like every other Walt Disney World resort is notable. Dancing is Forbidden (talk) 22:55, 11 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think an admin can just "delete" an AfD, but one can invoke the snowball clause and close the discussion before the 7-day period is up. I'd do it myself as a non-admin closure, but I think that might be overstepping my bounds. There are, however, other non-admins who are less cautious about NAC's than I am. Requested move[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the proposal was Casting vote: support, but make the plain name the disambig page. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 09:59, 22 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Shades of GreenShades of Green (resort) — so that Shades of Green can become a redirect to Variations of green, which is the article about different shades of the colour green. I suspect that most people entering "shades of green" into the search box are looking not for the resort but for the article about colours. Shades of green (note capitalisation) currently redirects to Variations of green, and the variations article already has a hatnote directing those looking for the resort here. • Oppose. Anyone entering "shades of green" into the search box is already properly redirected to the article about colors, so that's not a concern. Shades of Green, capitalized thus, is a proper name and different from shades of green. Most people entering the former into the search box probably are looking for the resort, which in any case now has a hatnote pointing back to variations of green. I see no problem with the current set up. Station1 (talk) 23:07, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose, In agreement with User:Station1). Dancing is Forbidden (talk) 05:04, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - With article titles which are distinguisehd from each other only by punctuation, there can be a great dewal of confusion if disambuation isn't present to help. This article should get the "(resort)" disambiguation, and a hatnote added to "Shades of green". Ed Fitzgerald t / c 06:15, 18 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Clearly the current article is not the primary use. My only issue is should this be a redirect or a dab? I lean towards a dab, but that can be resolved after the move. Vegaswikian (talk) 23:20, 20 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    • I should add that Shades of Green has many other uses including a song, several nurseries, and many businesses. Not sure if any of those are notable. Vegaswikian (talk) 23:28, 20 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • And Shades of Greene was a British television series based on short stories written by the author Graham Greene. Redirect Shades of green to Shades of Green, which let be a disambig page? Anthony Appleyard (talk) 05:26, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Clearly not the primary usage, probably there is none. Andrewa (talk) 20:48, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose This article is clearly primary topic for "Shades of Green" (notice capitalization). Surely it's preferable to have this article at its proper name than move it to replace this place with a redirect from a misspelling. Jafeluv (talk) 22:13, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Shades of Green Logo Trademark and Copyright Issues[edit]

I've opened up a discussion on the talk page of the Shades of Green logo page (Click here) which basically points out that trademarks held by the Department of the Army are invalid because under federal law no United States Government agency or department can register or hold a copyright or trademark and that their use on Wikipedia is a non-legal issue. If you wish to discuss this please go to talk page linked above (Please do not discuss it on this talk page). Thank you. YborCityJohn (talk) 00:43, 9 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
