Article issues[edit]

Among the concerns here are neutrality and overall tone of the text--this is a hagiography at present-- the suggestion of conflict of interest, and the poor layout; probably WP:OWNERSHIP is relevant as well--users without a personal interest in the subject would be welcome to copy edit and clean up tone and format. It's possible that the article's creator is editing this using several accounts; please remember to sign in. The article's issues have been raised here [1], and may be further discussed there as well. Please don't remove the current templates until unaffiliated users have had a chance to read and help with this, and these concerns have been resolved. 76.248.149.98 (talk) 08:48, 4 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That there may be something more than is included here is indicated by articles published in recent years questioning Mr. Dobronyi's many claims: [2], [3], [4], [5]. 76.248.149.98 (talk) 09:03, 4 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Several of the above linked articles were used as sources for this biography, yet predominantly skeptical tone has been carefully omitted. The Miami Herald piece reads, in part: Any recounting of his history must carry a disclaimer: The only person who could separate fact from fiction in his colorful life died of liver cancer just after midnight May 29 at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach. Not even his sons, Joseph, of Larchmont, N.Y., and Ferenc, of San Francisco, can confidently deconstruct the mystique."He was a great believer in the more you tell the lie, the more it's true," said Ferenc, a musician and producer.
From Miami magazine: Consider roguish Hungarian 'nobleman' Baron Joseph De B. 'Sepy' Dobronyi - a man of immense bravado and vague repute best known not for his artistic accomplishments, which are considerable, but for his off-screen landlord role when his Coconut Grove home was used as a set in the production of Miami's most famous movie: 'Deep Throat.'
The biography here will require a lot of work to take it from a memorial relying unquestioningly on the subject's claims, to something closer to a neutral presentation of a colorful life. 76.248.149.98 (talk) 14:40, 4 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
After reviewing the comments of anonymous user 76.248.149. 98 and researching the 45 sources cited. It appears that user 76.248.149.98 is biased or has not done his due diligence. I contacted the estate of the subject and they were very kind to verify and supplied me with copies of the mentioned published sources and much more, that directly support the information. According to the 45 cited published sources, which encompass over 50 years, it would be unfounded for them to be unreliable. These are from verifiable and, reliable, world-respected media as defined by Wikipedia's guidelines, policies and criteria.
There is no question that this article is a work in progress as many new wiki articles or biographies are and do require cleaning up and formatting to adhere to the strict standards of Wikipedia. Even though the article still needs to include all majority and significant views, it’s presently more than a hagiography according to the unquestioningly cited published sources, and of enough importance as defined by Wikipedia’s standards.
I recommend that anonymous user 76.248.149 becomes an identifiable user if they plan to continue to contribute unbiased comments and edits. These biographies do require a lot of work but that’s what makes Wikipedia what it is.
All users are invited to research the sources or to contact the estate and make unbiased edits and contributions accordingly.

Contested deletion[edit]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because it collects and summarizes valuable and consequentially cited information regarding a former public figure, whose life and actions have had lasting implications on broader society in Austria, Sweden, the United Kingdom, the region of Miami and the rest of the USA. --2A02:8388:180D:6A00:A9D2:1C9E:4647:FF56 (talk) 20:18, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
