move?[edit]

Should this be moved to Seibu Chichibu Station ?? (PrivateCo Z Station) Neier 12:38, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm... Can you decipher the station sign from the photo at the bottom of this page: [1]? I think it has a hyphen, not sure. Here's a similarly illegible photo: [2]. But by our style guide, it should probably be at Seibu Chichibu Station. I suppose it's similar to Kintetsu Nara station in nature - never referred to without the PrivateCo name. I think we need to have more discussions about station names as well, on the main project talk page. - Tangotango 12:58, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Seibu's English map (Railway Map PDF at http://www.seibu-group.co.jp/railways/tourist/english/index.html ) has the hyphens. I was involved with the naming style guideline discussion, but mostly, I was concerned with a standard way of disambiguating similarly named stations from each other – the issue of hyphenating company names is a separate issue, which I haven't thought much about, and there are probably not many people who would argue strongly for one over the other. Hyphenating directionals like Higashi-xyz and Shimo-abc is probably much more of a contentious topic. Neier 13:35, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Should we create a set of guidelines for this kind of thing? - Tangotango 14:52, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
