Prior hagiographic tone/Conflict of interest editor[edit]

The versions prior to my edits were much too hagiographic and PR-like in tone. That is fine for the artist's own web page, but not for Wikipedia. The purpose of Wikipedia is to present 'just the facts' and not be a PR-medium for any given person or organisation. Also, given the disruptive and PR-like edit war actions by Pianoplayer98, who has only ever edited See Siang Wong's Wikipedia page, it is quite clear that Pianoplayer98 is See Siang Wong himself. It is a conflict of interest and unethical to edit one's own Wikipedia page, for the record. DJRafe (talk) 15:48, 10 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It is abundantly clear that Pianoplayer98 (i.e. See Siang Wong) has not the faintest idea of how wikipedia is meant to operate. Points to keep in mind:

  • It is never appropriate to paste text directly from other sources. That is plagiarism, and plagiarism is unacceptable behaviour on wikipedia.
  • As I commented before, wikipedia is not a PR-medium for an individual or a group. It is meant to be an objective, unbiased medium about a subject, showing no particular bias one way or the other. PR-like 'hype' text is, like plagiarism, completely unacceptable on wikipedia.

Anyone who does not understand these basic concepts has no business editing on wikipedia. DJRafe (talk) 14:49, 1 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
