Pronouns[edit]

Currently in Wikipedia (as I've seen), the standard is that neopronouns such as ze/hir be replaced with they/them for the sake of readability (see Justin Vivian Bond). This article is the only one I've ever seen that uses neopronouns.

My opinion is that this whole article is very hard to read as it is now and that, although people's preferred pronouns should be respected, the article should be changed to they/them for readability. Roundishtc) 21:24, 19 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, Roundish. This article should switch to they/them. The rule can be found here: MOS:GIDINFO#Discussion timeline. Please go ahead. – Finnusertop (talkcontribs) 22:28, 15 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Whatever that rule is, it's blatantly transphobic and disrespectful. You're misgendering hir intentionally, which is disgusting and inappropriate. Additionally, Wikipedia is a central space for information dissemination on the internet. By setting a standard that people's pronouns are to be disregarded for the sake of 'clarity', this database of information is actively permitting transphobia on an incredibly wide scale. If, instead, wikipedia became a place where the use of neopronouns can be normalised, with notes provided instead to explain their usage, transphobia will be reduced worldwide. 115.69.45.111 (talk) 01:33, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
