Surname[edit]

If she became Sarah Burton on her marriage it would be useful to give her birth name (and date of birth if available).--Felix Folio Secundus (talk) 20:44, 29 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Her birth name is Sarah Jane Heard. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.128.3.251 (talk) 22:00, 13 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It needs a wikipedia reliable source to add name changes, please don't replace it again without one, - thanks - Off2riorob (talk) 22:03, 13 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The citation is in the article. Unfortunaltey, Off2riorob seems to want to remove *both* the facts and the citation that supports those facts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.128.3.251 (talk) 22:09, 13 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • There is no citation for her middle name, please present it here if you believe there is one, thanks - Off2riorob (talk) 22:14, 13 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
There is no citation because you removed it! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.138.240.106 (talk) 22:52, 14 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting. I have 1st hand knowledge. There is an incredible amount of mislead that is painfully clear. It is a difficult situation. I am trying to be objective and respectful, nevertheless. Jane Heard did not design Kate Middleton's wedding dress. All substantial details and processes were confirmed/ completed prior to pitching & briefing with Kate Middleton (at the time) directly. Quote was provided and some last minute details awaited in order to achieve what was truly envisioned for the dress and event. This involved Alexander McQueen, ignoring obvious reasons for now, their artisans/ ateliers were key for the corset structuring. The true designer was from a commonwealth nation (Canada), of South Indian origin. To skip to the part of the name Sarah Burton - Sarah Burton was ultimately the ghost name/ label used. The artisans and ateliers were advised and prepared to work with Kate directly (throughout the assembly process). They are more than capable of the fittings and attention to details that were strictly conveyed from the start so there was nothing to worry about from the designer's perspective. Jane Heard was given the opportunity to blindly say yes to this top secret project. She accepted, suddenly becoming the creative director of McQueen. She legally changed her name to Sarah Burton. She was trusted to inspect the dress and be a supporting role. The rest is history. Literally. 2001:56A:F478:2400:A07C:E64D:79A:43A5 (talk) 20:09, 6 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I found the two archived discussions at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons/Noticeboard/Archive138#Sarah_Burton and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons/Noticeboard/Archive116#Sarah_Burton . So,it seems consensus was achived to not include the middle name because of the public record source used and, possibily, original research. The BLP discussion stressed that a non-public record source should be used to support the addition of the middle name or maiden name. Geraldshields11 (talk) 18:48, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Jane Heard changed her name to Sarah Burton 100%. I confirmed this personally with UK Parliament. Sarah Burton is the ghost name of the actual Canadian, Indian Origin, Designer. As more started inquiring, she married a long time boyfriend where he took her last name. She is not the designer for Kate Middleton's dress. 2001:56A:F478:2400:A07C:E64D:79A:43A5 (talk) 02:42, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

PLS CORRECT ERRORS.[edit]

Please show her direct quotes when she says she designed her dress. She has a quote stating she was not designing it. Other quotes on dress are of her playing the supportive role/ inspection being at the event. She only came in on the tail end during assembly process. Everything was set up with incredible details conveyed and engrained to do their magic with Kate Middleton directly. Her role was clear prior to accepting. What is being mislead to public is so wild. Way too many creatives and other roles know. 2001:56A:F478:2400:A07C:E64D:79A:43A5 (talk) 02:56, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
