Loveden/Pryse[edit]

I am sure I have correctly paraphrased the ODNB but the bit at Edward Loveden Loveden/Edward Pryse Pryse being an MP has me wondering. Check out Pryse Pryse, for example, and it appears that Edward Loveden was probably that guy's father ... but we do not have an article for that Edward and I would have expected one by now for an MP from the late 1700s/early 1800s. It is, however, a complex family with very unimaginative names (!), so perhaps I've missed a beat somewhere. - Sitush (talk) 21:31, 16 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I think it is this guy. He married into the Pryse family and changed his name to Loveden. Was ca 11-13 years older than Warneford. See also this. - Sitush (talk) 08:28, 17 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Degrees[edit]

I am wondering whether the BCL and DCL were Lambeth degrees, perhaps awarded due to his munificence. The sources I've seen thus far do not specify either way. - Sitush (talk) 07:40, 17 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Now sorted. The Clerical Database I have just added mentions both as being from Oxford. - Sitush (talk) 14:01, 17 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
