"Exiled"?!?[edit]

Wow I didn't know that he was "exiled" - I would have assumed he left an active warzone! And maybe he did - I wouldn't trust the Jordan Times to differentiate the two; that is unless differentiating the two made Israel look worse.

I think the word "exiled" applies reasonably well to a person who wasn't allowed to return to his homeland for more than fifty years, not even in a casket. What term would you suggest that makes Israel "look better"? MeteorMaker (talk) 12:16, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Someone changed the page to "That same year they were forced to leave with the advance of Israeli forces." This sounds good to me. The word "forced" leaves open whether the circumstances forced him, or soldiers forced him. Good NPOV edit for whoever did it. But, we still have a section entitled "After exile." I'm not going to remove that word, exile, unless we get some more feedback.

With that said, After exile's first sentence is problematic. "Hadawi's wife died of a heart attack shortly after their expulsion." I don't know of a source for this other than a Jordan Times eulogy. So I'm going to change "expulsion" to "departure," because we have not established the circumstances of his leaving.
