No citation given...[edit]

The Performance Section[edit]

placements[edit]

I removed the following well sourced statement form the article:

Tata Consultancy Services had offered jobs to 1,214 students from SRM University for 2012 batch.Last year,TCS recruited 1091 students from SRM.[1]

The reasons are following. First, I believe placement sections are a bad idea in general, as they tend to reek of boosterism and lack of neutral point of view. The employment chances of graduates are something for a guidebook, much less something for an encyclopedic article. While WP:UNIGUIDE does not prevent this, it also does not provide for it. But even if it did, this is not the way to do it since it completely lacks context. The reader (such as myself) does not know if this is a small number or a large number, if other companies also employ graduates, and at what conditions. It is a meaningless, unrelated figure, bordering on trivia, and I don't see how it improves the article. --Muhandes (talk) 15:16, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello: I was getting data on an ISRO space launch and ran across the "SRMSAT" microsatellite from SRM U. It led to the question: "OK, so who was Sri Ramaswamy?" Might be nice to add that detail to this article one of these days. It's the second one. NO hostel provided for 4th year girl student this year[edit]

So disgusting and harrasment to the 4th year girl student when they heard that no hostel will be provided. If it's intimated at the time of admission, many students didn't take admission in SRM.
