Merger proposal[edit]

I propose that this article be merged into Starting price as the two articles describe the same concept. Hack (talk) 05:32, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Agree. This article isn't much use at the moment. Apart from the duplication, it's been unreferenced for 7 years and seems to be based on one country. Tigerboy1966  06:54, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I wonder if both could be merged to Fixed odds betting. When I quote odds in horse racing I link to the Fractional odds betting section of THAT article.  Tigerboy1966  06:50, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Are they the same concept? Hack (talk) 05:53, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Not identical, but overlapping. This article begins: "Starting price or SP bookmaking literally refers to taking bets at fixed odds" (my bold).  Tigerboy1966  07:46, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Agree with Tigerboy on merge with Fixed odds betting Peaky76 (talk) 22:44, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
See also the discussion here: Talk:Odds#Proposed_merger_from_Fixed-odds_betting. I think the whole odds/bookmaking series of articles can be streamlined. Peaky76 (talk) 01:03, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect[edit]

Have now redirected to Fixed odds betting as above. As most of the material related to Australian racing, I have relocated it there - Horseracing in Australia#Betting Peaky76 (talk) 23:02, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
