All officers[edit]

The article states "SSG draws its personnel from officers of all three branches of the military". Are all the members of SSG really officers? This sounds very odd to me. Cjrother (talk) 20:55, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Answer: The armed forces were legally not allowed to hire soldiers for anything other than short term contracts that is why all members of the SSG/SIG had to be officers. Today we are allowed to hire soldiers and NCOs for longer contracts but I don't know if they have changed their recruiting policy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.226.121.108 (talk) 21:02, 22 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Zaire[edit]

"In November 2003, SSG along with FJS/IK (Para Ranger Rapid Reaction Company, later SIG) were sent to Zaire (now Democratic Republic of Congo)"

Zaire did not exist in 2003, DRC was founded already in 1997. [1] 136.163.44.102 (talk) 12:28, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
