Page protection[edit]

I believe the page protection in this article should be stricter. From the history page, it would seem that pending changes protection isn't doing a lot to stop vandals. Maybe 30/500 protection would be better. What do you think? — BEEFITRON (talk) 23:41, 30 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think it should ever be changed to extended-confirmed protection, since the overwhelming majority of "Pencil Award" vandalism comes from new and IP users. I suspect at this rate it will probably go back to semi-protected, perhaps indefinitely, but we need to follow policy and consider the negative consequences of stricter protection.
I would disagree when you say pending changes protection is not doing a lot to stop vandals, as it doesn't look like any vandalism has been mistakenly approved since protection was last added. It appears that reviewing changes to this article has been greatly simplified by the presence of the comment saying "Please do not add the Pencil Award".

I don't know why the pencil award is not up there. Ryan accepted it so why is it being removed from the memory of people. haloboy777 (talk) 16:35, 2 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia isn't a comedy site. OhNoitsJamie Talk 16:39, 2 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
But isn't the purpose of an encyclopedia to have all the information? The event did happen right? haloboy777 (talk) 17:00, 2 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, a gag where Andre picked up a random pencil from his desk and handed it to Phillipe as an "award" did happen. We all get the joke and as a fan of the show, I think it's funny. However, being it's not an established award, or even an actual award to begin with, it doesn't belong. Encyclopedias DO function to present important information on a subject, not jokes mocking the subject. NJZombie (talk) 20:21, 2 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The 2nd[edit]

A trailer was published very recently: https://trailers.apple.com/trailers/independent/the-2nd/. Is it still "Unsourced future production"? -- Sebastian Panwitz (talk) 17:33, 25 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

That looks great. It needs to be cited with the information in the article, see WP:V. BOVINEBOY2008 14:02, 26 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Matthew Ryan never harassed anyone or threw anyone down stairs. Please delete those two lines - IMPRINTS. 184.103.229.57 (talk) 18:51, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: It is well sourced, and is clear that it was an allegation. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 19:00, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Tangentially related, but the LAPD does not grant restraining orders and that part of the sentence should be deleted. Courts issue restraining orders, and in specific emergencies LAPD officers will apply for an Emergency Protective Order on a person's behalf. 174.193.130.148 (talk) 02:59, 14 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
