Copyedit[edit]

I can't think of any waterfront houses in Russell Lea. Some have water views, but I can't recall waterfrontage.

Russell Lea is only 6 km from Sydney CBD. 10 km West sees Burwood Heights, Concord or Cabarita.

I can't find a reference to Russell Barton being the member for Goulburn.

The south-east part of Russell Lea sits along the shore of Iron Cove. Distances are calculated by road and taken from The Book of Sydney Suburbs. Drummoyne is 6km and Five Dock is 10km, so Russell Lea is probably 8km.

History[edit]

I'll have to dig out my history of Drummoyne book to confirm, but it's more likely that Russell Lea takes its name from Barton's wife whose maiden name was, coincidentally, Russell. Unless you’re a king or queen it is not considered good form and highly unusual to name a place after your own first name. One would normally use their surname, or that of a loved one. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.168.79.1 (talk) 00:32, 10 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
