Professional[edit]

Could one say he is a professional impersonator? And how did he develop his impersonation skills? Anyone know and is is able to be backed up? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Oliverdavison (talkcontribs)

When he was interviewed on Wogan (on 18 February 1985) he said that he started off from an early age impersonating his teachers at school. I went to Clifton Hall at the same time as him, and can personally vouch for this. He was pretty much a natural from the start. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.130.71.68 (talk) 12:37, 30 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Can I point out that the bit at the top says he has one daughter but the personal life section says he has two children with his second wife! Kateab 18:56, 14 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Foreign language skills[edit]

He seems quite fluent in French, as occurred in one episode of "School's Out". There's a clip on youtube showing him doing an impression of George Bush in French. --85.92.185.60 (talk) 23:45, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

He studied modern languages at university, ISTR he has translated opera from German to English so I imagine he speaks a number of languages, but I don't know the details I'm afraid. Apepper (talk) 19:55, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The old nationality game[edit]

Rory always calls himself English, in every interview or casually in every act he does. So why do the editors think they know better? 76.238.137.140 (talk) 08:55, 9 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Where has he claimed to be English? He has a poncey English accent, granted, but where has he claimed to be English?

He was born and at least partially raised in Edinburgh. That would make him Scottish. (See Graeme Garden - he was born in Aberdeen and lived in Scotland only until he was 4, but he gets the Scottish label.) Bangdrum (talk) 16:03, 9 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
As he doesn't define himself as Scottish, his place of birth is largely irrelevant. Unless he claims otherwise, his nationality should be described as British. 79.90.153.71 (talk) 13:19, 7 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder[edit]

I hope that no one minds, but I have put a little bit in the section on his personal life on how he has been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Given that Rory Bremner has appeared on national television talking about this, indeed he was on The One Show, which is broadcast when quite a lot of people will be watching, I am sure that he himself will not mind this going in the article! ACEOREVIVED (talk) 21:07, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

More on his diagnosis (including reference to the programme on Radio Four about this topic) can be found on:
