Multiple issues[edit]

When the article was posted in June 2010, your Editor found "multiple issues" with it. Since then, I have added several links, and many external sources.

My new book "My Father, the Man Who Never Was" was published 1st November 2011, and is now the first reference cited. It has 200 pages, 160 illustrations, and contains five pages of sources cited at the end. Can you please reassess your comments, to see if there are still "multiple issues"?

I'm sorry I can do nothing about my close connection with the subject, as he was my father. But so far, no-one has used that connection as a reason to dispute the facts given in the article, and now in the book.

Minor point; we're all WP:EDITORS including you. However, some only edit a narrow range of topics and thus, perhaps unfairly, tend to get less respect amongst fellow editors who contribute across a wider range. Also I'm afraid that, by the way Wikipedia customarily handles such things (WP:RULEs and WP:GUIDELINEs are only part of our complex customs) the warning flags are still appropriate despite looking somewhat more scary than they ought. The Wikipedia:Inline citation question might be handled by giving page numbers for specific statements and links to reputable external Web sites that discuss those matters. The lack of inbound links can be fixed by inserting links in other articles to this one. The matter of personal connection, well, we seem to be stuck with it. That's one reason experienced editors seldom edit articles about the matters dearest to our hearts. Jim.henderson (talk) 01:15, 13 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
