Je pensais également qu'il l'avait obtenue par Brander mais le Vithyaz a fait escale quelques heures à Rapanui. Nous n'avons pas la preuve écrite qu'il l'ait trouvée à Tahiti chez Brander. Au sujet de ton information : Orliac (2005) carbon dated the wood to 1680-1740 CE, though we cannot be sure the text dates from that period". Il est évident que la datation du bois n'est pas la datation de l'écriture!!! Elle est en Thespesia popoulnea, analysée par le Beta Analytic Inc de Miami en dentrochronologie (conférence Catherine Orliac Reñaca 2004)- Tu voudras bien signaler la courtoisie de Catherine Orliac et des Musées toutes les fois que tu mets sur le site des photos récentes. C'est la règle et la courtoisie la plus élémentaire du rédacteur. D'autre part si tu décidais de remettre tous les items selon Barthel en ligne sur Wikipedia, ce serait très utile. Mais il faut le faire correctement, avec la signalisation de chacune des lignes.

Again, as for provenance, I'm only following the sources I have, and the uncertainty is the reason I used the word may.

Eventually I would like to get all of Barthel up. However, I don't have scans of all the texts. I would like to add Fischer as well, for comparison, but don't have any of his tracings, so this will take some time.

Lorena à Kwami : oui, les lignes de Barthel sont codifiées. Qr1, Qr2... etc pour le recto et Qv1, Qv2... pour le verso. Lorsque nous travaillons les textes en épigraphie, nous utilisons ces codes. Mais c'est déjà merveilleux que vous mettiez Barthel en ligne Kwami.
