RonaldoRonaldo (name) – Ronaldo should redirect to Cristiano Ronaldo per WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT. Cristiano meets the criteria for WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, that are long-term/historical significance and high likeliness of usage. Flooded with them hundreds 08:46, 1 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose I disagree. CR7 is usually referred to as "Cristiano Ronaldo" and sometimes even "Cristiano". Robby.is.on (talk) 09:24, 1 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - What about Fat Ronaldo? Cristiano is certainly more popular at the moment, but we shouldn't title our articles based on what is "currently" more popular, especially when considering the names of two living people. – PeeJay 09:26, 1 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per WP:TITLE In ictu oculi (talk) 09:51, 1 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose no clear primary topic. Ronaldo (Brazilian footballer) has comparable long term signifiance to Cristiano Ronaldo (as evidenced by their inclusion on List of association football players considered the greatest of all time) IffyChat -- 12:26, 1 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose unclear that Cristiano Ronaldo will have more long term importance than Ronaldo (Brazilian footballer), who won the FIFA World Player of the Year three times. Not a WP:TWODAB situation either as there are other Ronaldos. power~enwiki (π, ν) 16:30, 1 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Most people will search for Cristiano Ronaldo when searching for him. Views [[1]] show that Ronaldo (Brazilian footballer) receives a comparable number of views considering people are much more likely to use just "Ronaldo" when searching for him. The current page is also a WP:DABCONCEPT but could do with more content and sources. Crouch, Swale (talk) 16:48, 1 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected edit request on 11 January 2021[edit]

Add this code to the section #People: * [[Ronaldo Henrique]] (born 1994), Brazilian footballer * [[Ronaldo Henrique Silva]] (born 1991), Brazilian footballer 76.103.46.252 (talk) 22:57, 11 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I've added the two players to the disambiguation page. Thanks, 76.103.46.252. Robby.is.on (talk) 08:32, 12 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Move discussion in progress[edit]

There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:Ronaldo (Brazilian footballer) which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 17:15, 29 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The RM has been closed speedily. As with the discussion above, neither footballer is a primary topic for "Ronaldo", but the name itself isn't either (article links 24 Ronaldo vs 1546 Ronaldo (Brazilian footballer); page views 284 vs 7405; search results overwhelmingly for Cristiano Ronaldo.) WikiNav results are also interesting. Would a disambiguation page serve the reader better than assuming incorrectly that a reader visiting Ronaldo seeks information on the name itself?
