Rossano[edit]

I find the following sentence in the article puzzling: "The historical Diocese of San Marco was created in 1179 within the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Rossano." Rossano did not become a Metropolitan Archdiocese until 1460. Is it claimed, chronology apart, that San Marco was separated from the diocese of Rossano? I am aware that there is a considerable bibliography on the topic of the origins of San Marco (see Kehr, X, p. 87; Kamp, p. 823), which I have not yet read. Should the quoted sentence be suppressed, or can it be fixed? How? --Vicedomino (talk) 05:20, 2 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
